Arjuna
Bhagavad GitaArjuna is the central human figure of the Krishna–Arjuna Dialogue, a warrior whose moral crisis gives the larger teaching its dramatic form. At the opening of the Kurukshetra War, he stands between the Pandava army and the Kaurava army, yet the decisive battlefield is within him: the weapons in his hands are set against the faces of teachers, elders, friends, and relatives. His movement from paralysis to obedience is not a simple recovery of courage. It is a redefinition of action, in which duty must be performed without attachment to its fruits and personal grief must be placed within a wider account of the soul, cosmic order, and liberation.
